Irene Golas – Samples
The following are samples of haiku from Sudbury Writers’ Guild member Irene Golas.
Seven Haiku
clouds touching clouds
a lamb nuzzles
its mother
parsley
so green I hear it
spring rain
lilac on the breeze
missing the bounce
of my ponytail
thinning the carrots…
still thinking about the child
miscarried
first tomato
mother picks for me
the sun’s warmth
left breast gone
the one my infant son
preferred
about the war…
mother simply stares
into her soup
