Trail Poetry Contest -CLOSED-
UPDATE: The Trail Poetry Contest is now CLOSED. Thank you for your submission.
The Sudbury Writers’ Guild, Reading Town, Lake Laurentian Conservation Area, The City of Greater of Sudbury, Prise De Parole and the Greater Sudbury Public Library are looking for your help to put poetry on some city trails.
The Lake Laurentian Conservation Area would like to post 3-5 lines of your poetry on signs through their trail system. Poems can be anything that has to do with trails, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, or just taking a shortcut to work or school. They can be about urban or rural trails or about anything you have seen or experienced on a trail. Even what it means to have the Sudbury trail system in our city.
We’re looking for entries from all languages, ages and from all skill level. From the beginner to the published poet.
Please submit no more than 3-4 poems in the form below. Be sure to fill out all the fields with your bio and contact information.
Alternatively you can email us your entry at firstname.lastname@example.org by sending the poems in a single document and do not attach your name on any of them. Instead send a 50 word bio with contact information and a list of the poems titles in the email.
Winners will be contacted via email. Deadline for Lake Laurentian Conservation project is January 31st 2018. Poems will be chosen by the former Poet Laurates via blind submission through the Writers’ Guild.
If the chosen winners are willing they will be invited to read at a Reading Town event the first week of May 2018. Poems will go on trails in the spring or early summer of 2018.
Good luck and get writing
