Join us in celebrating 30 years of the Sudbury Writers’ Guild this season. Founded in 1992 we’re having a reunion/open house of sorts on Saturday September 17th from 2-4pm at Grace United Church at 1520 Bancroft Drive. Come celebrate Sudbury’s writing spirit, whether you’re a former member, current member, or potential future member. There will be some light refreshments and an address from the founding member and first SWG president, Vicki Gilhula, at 2:30 PM. You can also peruse Guild member books, and see our Painted Voices poster display as well as talk to current members of the guild.
Do you meet to review material submitted by members? Where do you meet and how often? Something on the meeting format would be welcome.
Tim – The guild meets as a group monthly on the last Thursday of the month. You can find all the detail on our ABOUT US page. Our next meeting coming up is October 27th. As for critiquing each others work we generally have at least one meeting a year dedicated to that, but there are other Inner Circle groups that focus on specific mediums, like Novels, Play/Screen Writing, and Graphic Novels that meet outside of the monthly meeting to share work and encourage each other. Hope to see you out at a meeting.
